Awards and Competitions Recommendation

The California Young Reader Medal (CYRM) program encourages recreational reading of popular literature among the young people of our state. Since its inception in 1974, millions of California children have nominated, read, and voted for the winners of the California Young Reader Medal.

The Scottish Arts Trust supports and promotes innovation and creativity in the arts in Scotland. Their ground-breaking initiatives provide new platforms for showcasing and promoting the work of Scotland’s artists, while also mobilising and drawing on the skills, energy and vision of many volunteers committed to the creative arts.

The Bridport Prize is an organization passionate about discovering creative writing talent from around the world. Previous winners include the novelist Kate Atkinson MBE, Kit de Waal and Kelleigh Greenberg- Jephcott. Former judges include Monica Ali, Roger McGough and Zoe Heller. Many writers have launched their careers with them and ended up on the best sellers list.
